Mercury War Breeds Book 16 Lora Leigh 9780425224182 Books
While I love Lora Leigh and her detailed writing..sometimes I wish she could get tiny facts right. Don't get me wrong, the breed series as a whole is great..some fantastic books in the series and some not. Do I think this series has been stretched between too many books? Yes. Are some worth reading? Yes. Is this one of them? Yes. HOWEVER, I know how nit-picky I'm being on this but in rereading the book the whole "lion breeds mate for life like their cousin". Their cousin the lion? What cousin breeds for life? Lions don't breed for life. In fact most lions have a PRIDE mostly composed of FEMALES. Do we know what rival lions do? Especially if there are cubs? They fight the current male for the pride or kill him and then kill any cubs to get the female ovulating again so he can breed her. And the whole "temperatures below zero with the lions patrolling sanctuary". What? Lions out in the middle of winter in freezing conditions? Come on. African lions. I know animals acclimate to a point...but please. Don't insult our intelligence. It would be nice if authors who write books like these with "genetically enhanced humans..half man half animal" watched a documentary on the beasts they attempt to write about. Or ask an animal expert. Read a book, do research. It's little details like this that completely railroad my reading experience since I happen to be in the animal field. I give this book 3 stars. I recommend this series over Laurann Dohners only if you want lengthy books with decently, intelligently written dialogue for the most part that has good flow. Seriously if you read reviews to determine if you'll read the book? Sure go ahead and read it. It's good. It grabs you. But, it's a little pricey and has some incorrect information.Do the math on the pricey part kindle books in this series? $7.
How many books in the series? 30.
7x30........
In the end I do recommend the book. Just know...this lady doesn't know much about animals and makes for head scratching statements that are hilarious and annoying at the same time.

Mercury War Breeds Book 16 Lora Leigh 9780425224182 Books Reviews
I chose to give Lora Leigh's Mercury's War a 5 star rating because I absolutely love this series and this book is as awesomely written as all the others! I love the fact that in this series, and book particular, you have all these damaged hybrids and humans that just want validation of their existence and soul. They just want peace for their lives that have been stripped of any kind of love or compassion. Lora gives each one of these "damaged souls" love and writes on the struggles they have faced and continue to face at present. Some of these stories, like Mercury's, are particularly heart breaking and you find yourself sympathizing with them a great deal! THAT is the mark of a great author. She makes you feel for them through her words and it is wonderful! Great book, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Romances. It has a strong Adult theme to it, also a bit of a fantasy feel. I mean, come on, these men are awesome but are hybrids of animals as well! But HOT HOT HOT reads!! People who love her series will continue to love it with this book!
I have read this book many times and will be reading many more times in the future. The entire series rates up there with Anne McCaffrey’s dragon riders of Pern. You can start with any book in the series and feel like you know exactly where you are at within the world of the breeds. Mercury and Ria both pull at my heart strings. They have been hurt terribly in the past and keep a tight rein on their feelings and actions to protect themselves. Outside forces may be working against them, but when they come together the HEA is epic.
After so many books, all the breeds start to blend together. You basically know what you're getting when you read a Breed novel by Lora Leigh. The story is well written, if a little faced paced, and the characters are enjoyable. As someone who actively adores the whole "one true mate" cliche in paranormal romance, I'm a bit saddened to say that I'm starting to find this series lacking in interest. Unfortunately after having read pretty much every single breed novel, I'm struggling telling most of the male and some of the female characters apart. I get that there is a specific type of hero that stars in these kinds of novels, but the lack of character difference makes me feel like I'm reading about the same two characters over and over again- just in slightly different scenarios.
