Never press the “ignore” button on love…

Fated, Book 2

In these uncertain times, Mia Skinner’s Blackberry is her lifeline to independence…and a twenty-four/seven chain to her overbearing boss. When she loses it on a girls’ night out, it’s a disaster with pink slip written all over it—until she takes a chance and calls her number. And ends up talking to Mr. Sexiest-Voice-Alive.

The moment Jacob Miller lays eyes on the phone’s beautiful owner, a bolt of lust makes him want to make a sexy mess of her tidy outfit and perfectly straight hair. Which is a good sign. It means he’s almost fully recovered from a near-debilitating construction accident. Perhaps a little horizontal healing will get him back on his feet for good.

As their passion burns bright and hot, a funny thing happens. Mia’s ignoring her phone—and Jake’s the one itching to get back to work. But he’s building a plan that’ll let her hang up on her increasingly creepy boss for good. If Mia’s willing to meet him in the middle.

Warning Delicious, toe-curling sex including a lusty scene in a truck flying down the freeway. A hero whose greatest thrill is lavishing all his attention upon the woman he wants more than anything in the world.

I normally like this author, but this book wasn't very good. The female was just a weak chic that I couldn't like at all, and the guy was just kind of there...didn't like him, didn't dislike him. Just really didn't care. The story was bland and uneventful. The only thing that happened was when her boss finally crosses the line and starts groping her. Jake saves the day but then Mia isn't sure of she's going to quit because she really needs the job (excuse me...so you'll just go ahead and have sex with your boss then? Because that's what it seems like). Jake finally convinces her to quit by promising to take care of her (see what I mean my weak). So she quits but doesn't nothing about the sexually harassing boss. Yep, lets just leave him to harass the next poor girl who gets stuck working for the guy. I just can't stand weak female leads.

My issue with the writing was that every other paragraph (literally) had "as if" in it. "As if she couldn't resist", "as if he didn't want to let her go". It was really annoying after awhile.

Book 1 in this series was much better. This one almost read like the authors first work or something, it was really that bad. Not sure if I'm going to read the next one or not. I'm nervous now....

Realy enjoyed this writer's take on the serendipity. Great characters and believable story line that readers can relate to and... enjoy!
Would by again from . They product is always as advertised, packaged and mailed on time. I have bought many products from with no problems.
This was a nice story about two people who are brought together by fate and fall in love. I really liked the characters and the sex was hot.
Although I read it from beginning to end it was not one of her best books. I rate it a 5 out of 10
This was a fantastic book. I didn't want to put it down. I look forward to more from this author!! Great job!
I liked where it was going. I just wished it kept going. The character development between Jake and Mia was good (probably better than the first in the series). More secondary characters in this one as well. (We see Jenna again from Under My Umbrella Fated, Book 1, and what will probably be character for #3 - Morgan) The 'sizzle' in the book was better in the first of the series though, I felt it falling short in this one. Hopefully a character wrap up/epilogue will be in the next book so we can get an idea of what became of Mia and Jake because I felt it ended just like that. Overall a quick and good read.
After reading Fortune's Deception, I was so excited about Karen Erickson. But every subsequent book I've read by her has dampened my excitement a little more. After finishing this not-terrible book, I think I'm about ready to write off my excitement as a one book fluke.

Mia is in a total rut, both romantically and professionally, when she loses her phone in a movie theatre. When she calls her own number, a cute-sounding guy answers and -- after meeting him to get her phone back -- she agrees to have dinner with him. Jake is immediately attracted to Mia and their relationship proceeds like a paint-by-number project.

There was nothing wrong with this book . . . there was just nothing to it. No suspense, no real heat, no development.
