I enjoyed the story. the blurb had me confused when i started reading it. it was hard to get into in the beginning but i pushed myself to keep going and i was pleasantly surprised. at times it seemed the authors thoughts were jumbled but when you really look at it i think it was the character. marie was a mess in her head. pulled in different directions because everyone else wanted something from her. there are quite few twists in the mix of the story line. some throw you off and some just suck you in farther. and when i got to the end of the book..i was totally floored and was like 'what? it can't end like this! holy crap i need to know what the heck is going on!!' so needless to say i want book 2! the cliffhanger is perfect!! i have never read a book about dancers and wrestlers before because i just didnt think i would enjoy it but im happy to say that i have now changed my mind.

A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.
The synopsis had me intrigued and I couldn't wait to read this title as it incorporated a unique idea into the storyline - dancers and wrestlers. If the book itself was written as well as the synopsis, I might have been able to get through it. However, I made it to 30% before I gave up. The author wrote in circles and half sentences. There were so many character names thrown at you in the first chapter of the book that it was hard to keep up. This maybe could have been avoided if the author informed the reader who these people were in relation to the main character, Marie. However, it took multiple chapters before I was able to identify who each character was and what they meant to Marie. I couldn't figure out if Marie wanted to be with her ex-husband or with her current lover, Derek. She kept saying that her ex was the only one who she loved but then turns around and says she loves Derek.
I have no idea if this is a stand alone or has an HEA as I stopped reading about 1/3 of the way into the book. Maybe if this book is re-edited then I could understand it.
When I first started Marie's World, I was instantly sucked in. There was no denying that Marie has a lot to deal with and I couldn't help but to read and find out what really was going on. I will say, this one does not give anything away until the last few chapters. I was guessing throughout the entire book, wondering what could be so bad that things were happening the way it did.
I did like this one gave a different aspect as to wrestling and dancing. I didn't think the two would really work since they're both so different, but it was interesting how they connected. I'm still unsure if I liked Marie or not. She does some things that make her seem like the bad guy in this book, but then again, she's only doing what she feels is right and protecting the people she cares for. Her twin, Layla on the other hand, seems to be out for blood.
I did find this book a bit confusing since there was so many characters introduced and so many back stories. It was hard to keep track of everything and at times, I really didn't know what was happening. I had to re-read paragraphs and go back a few pages to make sure I didn't miss anything. Some of the characters and back stories I felt weren't needed, but then again, the way it ended it might play into the next book.
There also was a lot left open and I found I didn't want it to end that way. Although the 'big secret’ kept me interested, I felt let down at the ending. I was invested in this book and maybe that's why I felt that way. I wanted the ending to go a different way since Marie has already been through so much. In all, it was a good read and something different than I'd read before. I can only hope that the next one reveals more and helps me understand everything.
So this author is completely new to me I had not heard of her before so I thought ok I will give this a try because I like ti red new authors and find great books.
So let me start by saying I did not read the first book but the author did in fact leave a long explanation of what happened in the first book at the beginning of this one so that was very helpful to me.
Now onto the story itself, WOW there is a lot going on. Sometimes I had to go back and read just to make sure I understood what was happening. There is a lot of characters and they all just keep coming out of the woodwork and in and out of Marie's World too. So WARNING this is not a fast read it is a thoughtful, slow, suspenseful read that takes time to appreciate what the author is telling us through her writing. She is evoking many emotions and the quiet times in my head were when Marie wrote in her diary. The diary entries were very helpful to explain Marie's thoughts and emotions, along with giving me time to process what I was reading and get my head and emotions in check to continue on.
I loved this story completely and it was an honor to have this author share her work with me. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I received an ARC in exchange for an HONEST REVIEW for Rockstar Book Muse
